Australia’s First Chicken Litter Anaerobic Digestion (“AD”) Facility
This is not just another AD Plant Manager role. This is your chance to lead the first-ever chicken litter anaerobic digestion and organic fertiliser facility in Australia — a project that will revolutionise sustainable circular farming and renewable energy.

If you have expertise in anaerobic digestion and are ready to play a pivotal role in a world-first, high-impact initiative, we want to hear from you.

About the Company:
Our client is at the forefront of circular farming and operates one of the largest broiler chicken farming operations in Australia. Their 100% sustainable organic waste-to-energy project will generate renewable energy, support the national electricity grid, create jobs, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, produce organic fertiliser and help place Australia as a global leader in the waste-to-energy movement.

With construction nearing completion and commissioning soon to be undertaken, we need a plant management expert to take the lead.

About the Role:
As Plant Manager, you will oversee the 24/7 operations of the AD plant and fertiliser facility, leading a team of up to 15 staff and specialist contractors. You’ll ensure optimal plant performance by managing feedstocks, monitoring SCADA system data, maintaining biological health in the digesters, and driving operational efficiency. A strong mechanical approach, hands-on problem-solving, and commitment to safety and compliance will be key to success.

This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of sustainability, leading a project that has never been done before on this scale.

What’s on Offer:
We understand that a role of this calibre comes with significant expectations, and we are offering a world-class employment package to match:
  • Highly competitive salary
  • A fully maintained 4WD utility vehicle for business and personal use.
  • Modern accommodation for a family (including water, gas, and power)
  • Relocation assistance
  • Annual performance incentive bonus
  • Career-defining leadership opportunity—be part of a globally significant sustainability project.
  • Direct impact on the future of agriculture and renewable energy

Who We’re Looking For
This is a senior, high-impact role, and we are looking for a person with a strong, hands on mechanical and leadership background. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or process engineering and/or substantial experience in managing a substantial operation in livestock, agriculture or a similar related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience operating and managing an AD Plant or something similar.
  • Strong hands-on mechanical expertise.
  • Knowledge of biology and biological health in AD is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience managing a 24/7 plant operation.
  • Leadership experience managing teams (up to 15 staff) and external contractors.
  • A high level of analytical, numerical, and reasoning ability
  • Strong knowledge of environmental compliance, safety standards, and process optimisation
You’ll also need exceptional problem-solving skills, leadership, innovation, and adaptability to ensure the success of this world-leading project.
