ABOUT USOur client is a well-respected freight management business known for prioritising quality and long-term relationships over volume. They deliver a premium service to a discerning customer base, with a strong reputation for reliability, supply chain efficiency, and operational excellence.
Their expertise spans bulk agricultural commodities and fertilisers, palletised food and chemicals (DG and non-DG), and baled products such as cotton, wool, and fodder.
Operating along the Eastern Seaboard, from Melbourne to Townsville, they support a diverse client base across the agricultural and freight sectors.
With a solid foundation in place, the business is now looking to appoint a senior operator to work alongside the Managing Director to support the next phase of growth.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a senior, hands-on role and a true right hand to the Managing Director.
You will take ownership of day-to-day operations, ensuring freight movements run efficiently, customers are well supported, and processes are well managed.
This role suits someone who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution across operations, customer engagement, and business management.
LOCATION
The role offers flexibility in location and can be based in Shepparton, Berrigan (NSW) or Geelong, depending on your preference.
KEY DUTIES
- Oversee daily freight and logistics operations
- Manage a small team across planning and customer service
- Act as the key point of contact for customers
- Coordinate scheduling of drivers and freight movements
- Manage core administrative and operational processes
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Conduct occasional on-road customer and supplier visits
- Support operational planning and business strategy
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR
To be considered, you must have:
- A bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Agri or similar (essential)
- Extensive experience in transport, freight management and logistics
- Proven leadership experience (not a first-time leadership role)
- A seasoned operator with strong business management capability
