ABOUT THE COMPANY
Our client is a leading poultry farm network based in Anakie, Geelong, managing the operations of 8 farms and raising over 16 million birds annually.

They are seeking a Fleet and Operations Manager to oversee and optimise transport, logistics, and maintenance operations across their farming division. This role is pivotal in driving efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring operational excellence.
  

ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Fleet and Operations Manager will lead efforts to streamline workflows, optimise labour allocation, and maintain critical farming and transport equipment.

This hands-on role will require you to develop data-driven strategies, implement operational improvements, and foster a culture of safety and compliance.
  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Optimising Operations:

Analyse workflows, labour allocation, and contractor usage to drive efficiency and reduce costs.

Asset and Maintenance Management: Oversee preventative and reactive maintenance schedules for equipment, track spending, and develop an asset management strategy.

Inventory and Resource Management: Maintain adequate inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Compliance and Safety: Enforce safety protocols, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a safety-first culture through training and incident reporting.

Team Leadership: Recruit and manage staff, fostering a collaborative and solutions-focused team environment.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

Experience in Agriculture: Experience in farming, whether crop or livestock, is essential. A strong understanding of agricultural operations and practices is critical to success in this role.

Supply Chain Expertise: Proven experience managing supply chain operations, including logistics, transport, and inventory, is also essential.

Knowledge of Transport and Machinery: Expertise in operating and maintaining farming equipment such as trucks, trailers, telehandlers, and tractors.

Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams while managing multiple priorities effectively.

Compliance and Safety Awareness: Familiarity with compliance and safety regulations in agricultural environments.
