Description
The Company:Our client is a prominent manufacturer of high-quality commercial-grade doors and frames, boasting a successful trading history spanning over 30 years.
With factories located in Lilydale and Campbellfield, they produce and distribute a wide range of products, including fire-rated swing and slider doors, acoustic and escape doors, as well as routed, solid, or semi-solid doors. Frames are manufactured in both timber and pressed metal.
Clients consist exclusively of Tier 1,2 & some Tier 3 builders who work across a wide range of commercial building types, no residential projects.
The Role:
As an Estimator, your primary responsibility is to calculate the costs associated with manufacturing, delivering, and installing doors, frames, and related products. Key responsibilities include doing take-offs, preparing detailed cost estimates, submitting competitive quotes, advising customers, and ensuring financial project viability.
In addition to your primary estimating duties, you will assist the Project Management team by handling small, ad hoc projects that arise. These smaller orders are not assigned to the Project Managers, as their focus is on larger projects.
What Are We Looking For?
To excel in this role, you should have:
- A minimum of 12 months experience working as an Estimator
- Previous experience in the construction, building, engineering or building materials industry
- Previous experience doing take-offs from architectural plans
- Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills
You will also require excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as this is a client-facing role. You'll need to present information and respond to inquiries from managers, sales teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
