Our ClientOur client, a thriving poultry farm based in Carisbrook, Victoria, offers a unique opportunity to join their dynamic team. Managing a network of 8 farms across two locations, they are responsible for raising 16 million birds annually.
With a commitment to excellence, they operate state-of-the-art facilities featuring DACS heating and ventilation systems, modern housing, and advanced technology.
Additionally, they are pioneering one of the world’s first bio-gas plants using poultry by-products, showcasing their dedication to environmental sustainability.
Your Role as a Senior Farm Manager
As the Senior Farm Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining optimal living conditions and ensuring the welfare of the poultry livestock.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with Assistant Farm Managers to oversee day-to-day farm operations.
- Managing and coordinating staff tasks to build a cohesive team environment.
- Planning feed and gas usage to optimise resource efficiency.
- Monitoring shed conditions to support bird welfare and performance.
- Providing daily reports to maintain transparency and operational efficiency.
- Addressing maintenance issues promptly and effectively.
- Managing subcontractors responsible for key maintenance tasks.
- Responding swiftly to farm alarms to ensure the safety of the flocks.

Qualifications We Seek
To excel in this role, you will need:
- Extensive experience managing broiler farms or intensive indoor livestock operations, with a focus on growth rates.
- Skills in managing, rostering, and leading farm staff.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Word and Excel.
- A valid driver’s licence.
- Physical fitness to thrive in a dynamic farm environment.
