THE COMPANY

Our client is a successful poultry farm based in Carisbrook, Victoria.

The farms are completely off grid and environmentally sustainable. Additionally, our client is in the process of building one of the world’s first bio-gas plants using poultry by-products.

The farms all contain the world’s best in class DACS heating and ventilation systems, a significant workshop and all equipment necessary for the efficient operations of the farming network.

To meet this growing demand, our client is in the final build stages of their 9th farm and now requires an entry level Assistant Farm Manager to run the day-to-day operations on Farm 9, to ensure that optimum living and welfare conditions for poultry livestock are maintained.


KEY ACTIVITIES

Responsibilities will include:
  • Assisting with the day-to-day running of Farm 9.
  • Monitoring of shed environment for good bird welfare and performance
  • Daily operational reporting
  • Addressing general maintenance issues as they arise
  • Supervising and leading a team of Farm Hands
  • Responding promptly to farm alarms

WHAT’S OF OFFER:

This is a newly created role that will suit a hardworking individual who would like to step into their first Assistant Manager position.

The business is well established and currently employs several Farm Managers and Assistant Farm Managers who can teach, train and mentor you, meaning you will be fully supported whilst you transition into this role.

Additionally, our client also offers a range of employee benefits including:
  • Salary package $70,000 to $75,000 + superannuation

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

In order to be successful in this role you will require:
  • Must have had experience with animal husbandry
  • Experience in the use of farming machinery including tractors, bobcat and telehandlers is highly desirable.
  • Basic admin and computer skills using word and excel.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Physically fit
