A thriving poultry farm in Anakie, Victoria, offers a unique opportunity to join their dynamic team. With a network of farms across two locations, our client is responsible for raising close to 20 million birds per annum.
  
At the forefront of poultry farming excellence, our client operates state-of-the-art facilities featuring DACS heating and ventilation systems, modern housing, and cutting-edge technology.
  
Your Role as a Farm Manager
  
As a Farm Manager, you will ensure the optimal living conditions and welfare of our poultry livestock. Your responsibilities will include:  
  • Collaborating with local Assistant Farm Managers to oversee day-to-day farm operations.
  • It is essential you have farm maintenance (or similar) experience.
  • Managing and coordinating staff tasks, fostering a cohesive team environment.
  • Strategising feed and gas planning to ensure optimal resource utilisation.
  • Monitoring shed environments to ensure bird welfare and performance.
  • Providing daily operational reports to maintain transparency and efficiency.
  • Addressing maintenance issues promptly and effectively.
  • Managing subcontractors responsible for essential tasks such as shed maintenance.
  • Responding swiftly to farm alarms to ensure the safety and well-being of flocks.

Qualifications We Seek
  
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:  
  • It is essential that you have significant agriculture experience managing intensive indoor livestock farming, focusing on overseeing growth rates.
  • Skills in managing, rostering, and leading farming staff.
  • Basic administrative and computer skills, including proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • A valid driver’s license for seamless farm management.
  • Physical fitness to thrive in a dynamic farm environment.
